My Story

Florence is a Registered Clinical Social Worker in AB with over 16 years of experience. She has
master’s degrees in Education and Social Work.  Since graduation, she has worked in the health care setting,
community, and school system. Florence is knowledgeable in multicultural counselling and in working with the Indigenous People. 
 
She supports individuals, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD,
addiction, stress, illness adjustment, parenting, grief/loss, life transition, intimate
partner/domestic violence, trauma, and relational issues.  Through genuine, compassionate,
culturally sensitive and respectful conversations, Florence creates a safe, non-judgmental and
supportive environment where you can freely engage to initiate positive changes.   
Among other therapeutic approaches, Florence works from a client-centred and trauma-informed
lens while incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy,
Strength-based, Motivational Interviewing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical
Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills, Gottman therapy, and psycho-education approaches to address
her client’s unique needs. Her goal is to work alongside you to provide you with the tools and
strategies to optimize your desired goals and enhance your quality of life.  
 
Qualifications and Training: Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment and Management (SPRAM), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional; Understanding and Applying the DSM-5 in Healthcare Practice; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Certificate; Indigenous Peoples in Alberta; Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity; Loss and Grief after trauma; Disaster Response; Trauma Informed Care; Motivational Interviewing Certificate;  Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skill training; Certified Solution-focused Brief Therapy strategies practitioner; Certified Brain Injury Family Intervention practitioner; Gottman Therapy Level 1 Certificate; SAFE TALK – Suicide Prevention workshop; Stress, Anxiety and Depression workshop.
