My Story

Angela is a Euro-Canadian born in Ontario and residing in Alberta for the last 20+ years. Angela
provides individual, family, couple and group treatment for ages 10 +. Angela’s approach is
collaborative, creative, and change driven. She helps clients build on their existing strengths
and explore new solutions to the problems they are faced with. Angela has been a therapist for
over 10 years supporting Indigenous, non-Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ and other culturally
diverse clients. Although Angela is not Indigenous, she has made a concerted effort to become
culturally informed through learning from Elders, Cultural Teachers, Co-workers and Clients.
She deeply respects Indigenous cultures and traditions and views the role of culture as a way to
heal the soul wound of historical trauma.

Angela has experience working with people who are faced with: trauma, loss, depression,
anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, substance use, problematic sexual behaviors, oppositional
defiance disorder, attachment, and other concerns. Further she also specializes in family
therapy, improving relationships with between adolescents and parents, and supporting
parents through parenting challenges.

Angela is empathetic and non-judgmental. She views her role as a therapist as a guide to help
expand client’s viewpoints in their identified goals. Further, she also tries to balance the
seriousness of the session with some laughter as it can be healing. Angela is open to receiving
feedback about the therapeutic process and is adaptable.

Training/Certifications include: Angela holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Calgary, and is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers as a Clinical Social Worker. Further, she also has a post graduate diploma in couple and family therapy from the University of Calgary.
