My Story

Hello! My name is Amy,

I am a registered clinical social worker at Indigenous Psychological Services. I am joining the team with knowledge from my Indigenous Master’s of Social Work program at University nuxełhot’įne thaaɁehots’įnistameyimâkanak Blue Quills and previous work experience supporting Residential School survivors integrating land-based, ceremonial, and relational healing. My approach is described as empathetic, neurodivergence-affirming and trauma-informed to highlight how individuals can create strength from their adversities. I am trained to integrate Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Attachment-Based and Solution-Focused Therapy, and Land-Based and Relational Healing Practices.
