My Story

I am deeply honored to embark on this journey of serving Indigenous communities. While not
Indigenous myself, I respect and value Indigenous worldviews, traditions, and beliefs. I
approach my work with sensitivity and a commitment to tailoring interventions to align with
client's cultural backgrounds. I understand the importance of building trust within Indigenous
communities. I am committed to actively engaging in community events, gatherings, and
cultural ceremonies to foster relationships and better understand the needs of the
community I serve.

I have a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and its relevance to
Indigenous populations. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for
clients to explore and heal from trauma. I am eager to listen to you (my clients) to better
understand your unique experiences and discuss how I can help you. I believe that at the
end of the day, everyone wants to feel heard, seen, and understood, which can be healing in
and of itself.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We recognize that the land on which we gather is part of Turtle Island, situated within the territories of Treaties Four, Six, Seven, and Eight. This land has long been a sacred gathering place for many nations, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika—alongside the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney-Nakoda, Tsuu T'ina Nation, and the Métis Peoples who call this region home. The deep connection that the First Peoples have to this land teaches us our shared responsibility to protect and honor Mother Earth.Through this acknowledgment, we pay tribute to the ancestors, the children, and all those who rest here, as well as the missing and murdered Indigenous women and men. We recognize the ongoing journey of collective healing for all of humanity. We are reminded that all treaty people have a duty to one another. We stand in solidarity with those beside us, those forgotten, and those lost. We connect with Mother Earth for healing, guidance, and the teachings she offers.
